The motor is running but the trolley (the mechanism that connects the opener to the door) has disengaged. This is usually caused by the emergency release cord being pulled (intentionally or accidentally), a broken trolley carriage, or a stripped main gear. Remote-only failure is almost always a battery or programming issue. Before calling us, try replacing the remote battery (CR2032 or AA depending on model). If the problem persists after both steps, the remote receiver on the motor unit has failed and needs replacement.

Blinking indicator lights are diagnostic codes. The most common cause is a safety sensor problem. The photo-eye sensors at the base of the door must face each other with an unobstructed beam. This symptom points to the limit switch settings or the safety sensor alignment. The close limit switch tells the opener when the door has reached the floor. If set incorrectly, the opener interprets the door closing as an obstruction and reverses. Sensor misalignment causes the same reversal behavior. Both are adjustable without replacing any hardware, typically resolved in 15–20 minutes on-site.
